Reverse image search
Finds copies and near-copies of the same image. Best for memes, products, stock photos and finding the original source of a picture.
Face search
Finds the same face in different photos — different crop, outfit, lighting or year. Best for checking dating profiles, impersonation and your own exposure.
Try face search freeA 2-minute decision guide
- “Is this a stock photo or a celebrity?” Use a free reverse image search first.
- “Is this person using someone else’s photos?” Use face search — scammers rarely reuse the exact file.
- “Where do my photos appear?” Use both, then follow our removal guide.

Crop to the subject, use the highest-resolution version you have, and avoid screenshots with app chrome around the image. For faces, one person per photo works best. Read our deep dive for examples.
FAQ
Reverse image search FAQ
Is reverse image search free?
Yes — Google Lens, Bing Visual Search and TinEye are free. They are great for finding copies of the same image. They are weaker at finding the same person in different photos.
Why didn’t Google find the person?
General engines match whole images and objects. If a scammer uses a cropped or re-shot photo, the file is different, so it isn’t found. A face search compares the face itself.
Should I run both?
Yes. Start with a free reverse image search. If it finds nothing, run a face search preview — it’s free until you unlock.
