What face search is good for
Face search is the fastest way to check whether a profile photo is original. Romance and marketplace scammers usually borrow photos from real people — influencers, models, or ordinary users with public accounts. If the same face shows up under a different name, that is a strong signal to slow down.
- Dating and social apps: confirm a match is who they say they are before meeting. Pair it with our romance scam checklist.
- Your own privacy: find reposts of your photos and request removal using our removal guide.
- Impersonation: spot fake accounts using your face, then check handles with username lookup.
Reading the score bands
Strong means the faces are very similar — still verify with context. Possible is worth a look. Weak is usually a look-alike. A score is never proof of identity, and results must not be used for employment, housing, credit or insurance decisions.
Face search vs reverse image search
Classic engines find copies of the same picture. Face search finds the same face in different pictures. Read the full comparison on our reverse image search page.

FAQ
Face search FAQ
What is a reverse face search?
Instead of looking for the identical image file, a face search compares facial features and finds other photos where a similar-looking face appears — even with a different crop, outfit or background.
Which photos work best?
One person, facing the camera, eyes visible, good light, at least 200px across the face. Avoid sunglasses, masks, heavy filters and group photos.
Does it search Instagram or Facebook?
Only content that is publicly reachable without logging in. Private profiles, stories and closed groups are never searched.
Can I search a photo of a child?
No. Searching minors is prohibited by our Terms. Please report suspected child exploitation to NCMEC (CyberTipline) instead.
How long are results kept?
Up to 24 hours. A scheduled job deletes the upload, face data and results; after that the result link returns “expired”.
